AIR ESCORT TO GUIDE MAIL ON f MAIDENFLIGHT Parade To Field Planned in Commemoration of New Service Saturday. n airplane escort for the first trip of the Cincinnati-Chicago air mail plane, Saturday, is being arranged by the committee in charge. Several planes probably will fly to Cincinnati and accompany the mail planes here. Outside the city they will be met by a number of other planes and accompanied to the airport. Governor Ed Jackson and Mayor L. Ert Slack will speak at a luncheon at the Chamber of Commerce at 12:15 p. m., Saturday. Assemble Near Postoffice Mail trucks, the postoffice band and an American express truck will assemble Saturday afternoon at the rear of the postofflce for the trip to the airport. The west side of Meridian St. from New York to Vermont St. will be reserved from 12:30 p. m. to 2 p. m. for cars of officials, including the Governor, mayor, Postmaster Robert H. Bryson, Adjt. Gen. William H. Kershner and others of the reception and escort committees. Others in the parade will assemble on Vermont St. from Meridian to Pennsylvania St. Business houses and manufacturers desiring to enter trucks with special displays are invited to participate. These trucks and cars will form on New York St. from Meridian to Pennsylvania Sts.

Start at 2 o’clock ' The parade will move promptly at 2 p. m., going south on Meridian St. to E. Market St., south on Pennsylvania St. to Waashington St., west to Harding St„ south to Morris St. to Holt Rd., and thence to the airport. Nearly 1,500 letters forwarded by stamp collectors to be sent on the first air mail trip have been received by Bryson, some of them addressed to England and Germany. Folders commemorating the first flight are being distributed free by Paul H. Moore, Chamber of Commerce, director of aeronautics. Arrangements have been made to have names of firms printed on the mementoes at small cost. The only other expense attached to sending them by air mail is the 10-cent air mail stamp and 1 cent for an envelope. LOCAL MUSICIANS IN I. U. ORGANIZATIONS Five With Concert Band and Four in Glee Club. Bu Times Special BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Dec. 15. Nine Indianapolis students are members of musical organizations at Indiana University for the 1927-1928 term. Herbert Fledderjohn, Spencer Groves, Joe Risley, Robert Pebworth and Herbert Sedam are members of the concert band. Local students in the glee club include William Adams, Jack McCoy, Carl Rinne and Arthur Stevenson. Several concerts will be given by the band here during the winter, the first Sunday. Thirty best singers from the sixty comprising the glee club will be taken on a State tour during the spring vacation, Prof. D. D. Nye, director, announces.
