FLOOD WATERS DAMAGE STATE ROADS LITTLE _____ v Highway Bulletin Says All Traffic Lanes Open by Sunday. f Six detours and three bridge runarounds were removed from State roads this week by completion of pavements and new bridges, according to John I>. Williams, State Highway Commission director. Columbus to Bloomington, Indianapolis to Spencer and Bloomington to Bedford traffic was hampered by high water following rains Wednesday, according to the weekly highway bulletin. The waters will subside and traffic be moving normally by Sunday or Monday, highway officials estimated. Flood waters washed out a temporary bridge on Rd. 46, east of Nashville, and inundated R<fc 37 near Harrodsburg; Rd. 46, east of Bloomington and four miles east of Spencer, and Rd. 67 near Gosport. The bulletin lists these road conditions. No. I—Good stone surface from Rd. 80 to four miles north of Milan. Avoid to Rd. 46. No. 3—Bridge run-arounds at one mile, four miles and five miles south of Ft. Wayne. No. 7—Bridge run-around eleven miles north of Madison. Five and one-half mile southeast of Columbus. No. 9—Run-around via Mt. Etna. C. 8. No. 20—One-half mile detour at Rolling Prairie. Detour one mile east of Lagrange to Brushy Prairie. U. 8. No. 24—Short detour in Kentland. Detour just east of Huntington. U. 8. No. 27—Bridge run-arounds south of Portland and one mile south of Lynn. Traffic use cut-off between Lynn and Fountain City. Bridge run-around three miles north of Richmond.

U. S. SUES RAILROADS Safety Appliance Law Violated by ' Four, Cases Allege. TPhe United States sued four railroads Thursday for a total of SI,BOO for violation of safety regulation by operating cars having defective couplers and running boards. The actions were suggested by the United States Attorney General at Washington on request of the interstate commerce v commission.
