VOTERS BACK BEECH GROVE ‘IN'JFFICIALS Administration Candidates Also Returned to Office . at Ravenswood. Beech Grove and Ravenswood voters swarmed their respective polls Tuesday in larger numbers than ever before in the history of the two towns to re-elect administration candidates to office. In Beech Grove, where the political kettle had been warmed by factional fires, the progressive ticket swept the three offices voted on, more than two to one. Heavy Vote Cast W. S. Newcomer, drafted administration candidate for re-election as town trustee, polled 811 votes to 350 for Herbert Hearell, independent. W. A. Gearhart won, 822 to 315, over Harry Fleenor for town clerk. Charles Adams, progressive candidate for treasurer, polled the largest majority, defeating Robert Shephard, independent, 885 to 255. Os Beech Grove’s 1,578 eligible voters, 1,185 went to the polls. Robert Stamm won the only contested office in the Ravenswood election. He defeated William S. Arens, 62 to 23, for town trustee. Os the ninety Ravenswood voters registered, only eighty-five cast ballots. “Boost Ravenswood” Planned Mrs. Ada Williams was unopposed for re-election as town clerk and Robert Fitch and Harry Haynes, present trustees, with Stamm comprise the town board to take office Jan. 1. A “Boost Ravenswood” program will be inaugurated by the new administration. Beech Grove’s new officers will continue the present progressive program of town improvement, they announced.
