GIRL GETS $25 FOR BEST LIST IN DIANA RAGE Elizabeth Schoeppel Takes First Prize; Other Winners Named. BY THE DIANA EDITOR Here are the winners! It has been a tremendous job, contestants, to judge the thousands of answers received in the contest to see how many words you could fashion from the letters contained in the phrase “DIANA IN THE TIMES,” in the length of time we promised. The judges worked hard, and the lists you sent in were clear and neat, and that helped to save time. The judges were Miss Anna Johnston of Bobbs-Merrill Company, publishers; Miss Grace Shoup of the English department, Shortridge High School, and Miss Mary Dyer Lemon, Indianapolis Public Library publicity director. The first prize of $25 in cash goes to Miss Elizabeth Schoeppel, 1206 S. Randolph St., who turned in a seventeen-page list containing 2,056 words. Such words as “damasee,” “neith” and “mitis” sent the judges scurrying to the dictionary, but all the words were good ones, in the big book. James R. Woods, Jr., of 1309 W. Michigan St., earned the second prize of sls with a list 1,499 words long, neatly typed. Eight Get $5 Awards Third prize, $lO in cash, went to Mrs. Esther Boyd, 3359 Graceland Ave., for her neat list, written in longhand, of 1,453 words. Five dollar bills for winners of the fourth to eleventh prizes went to: Mrs. F. E. Rupkey, 1133 Linden St.. 1,210 words; F. W. Grossman, 1315 Ketcham St., 1,142 words; Mrs. Ralph R. Turner, 1129 N. Alabama St., 951 words; Mrs. W. P. Smythe, 316 E. Twenty-Second St., 944 words; Mrs. A. J. Porter, 2917 Rudkle St, 898 words; Miss Mary Tindall of Waldron, Ind., 877 words; Dr. James H. Rankin, 48 W. Twenty-Fourth St., 858 words, and Oma Binegar, 114 S. Illinois St., 836 words.

These ten won $1 each for their lists: Mark D. Webb of Franklin, 819 words; Mrs. D. E. Haymaker, 5208 Burgess Ave., 799 words; Mrs. Ethel Hitchcock of Indian Springs, 786 words; Miss Arlene Meeks of Kokomo, 772 words; Jack Bain, 1342 Gale St., 763 words; Joseph Cassidy of Plainfield, 749 words; Mrs. H. S. Shepard, 4720 College Ave., 746 words; Robert Leech, 1219 N. Gale St., 737 words; Miss Carolin Miller, 637 E. Thirty-Second St., 711 words, and Miss Margaret M. Snider, 1315 Hoefgen St., 705 words. Twenty Get Theater Tickets The next twenty won a pair of tickets to B. F. To Make Pine Cough Syrup at Home Hu no eqnetl for prompt ratalts. Taka* but a moment to make. Savca about $2

Pine is used in nearly all prescriptions and remedies for coughs. The reason is, pine has a remarkable effect in sootniiig and healing the membranes of the throat and chest. Pine cough syrups are combinations of pine and syrup. The “syrup” 1 part is usually plain sugar syrup. To make the best pine cough remedy that money can buy, put 2% ounces of Pinex in a pint bottle, and fill up with home-made sugar syrup. Or you ran use clarified honey, instead of sugar syrup. This makes n full pint—more than you can buy ready-made for three times the money. It is pure, and tastes good. You can feel this take hold of a cough or cold in a way that means business. The cough may be dry, hoarse and tight, or may be persistently loose from t.hc formation of phlegm. The cause is the same—inflamed membranes—and this Pinex and Syrup combination will stop it—usually jn 24 hours or less. Splendid, too, for bronchial asthma, bronchitis, ana hoarseness. Pinex is a highly concentrated compound of genuine Norway pine extract and palatable guaiacol, and is famous the world over for its prompt effect upon coughs. Beware c£ substitutes.
