The musical program to be played by .the concert orchestra of thirtyfive pieces under the direction of Nathaniel Shilkretf will present selections from famous American composers, giving the evening an allAmerican flavor. Tenor A Movement from “Atonement of Pan” Hadley Orchestra “Badinage” Herbert Orchestra A special studio program at 8 will be WRNY's way of celebrating Navy day at New York, and paying homage to the memory of Theodore Roosevelt. One of the unique features of the celebration will be the appearance of the Cowboy band. Several speakers of international repute are scheduled for the evening, among whom are Gen. Louis G. Stotesbury, Col. Theodore Roosevelt, Supreme Court Justice Philip J. McCook of the famous fighting McCook family. The Cathedral male quartet; Louise Bave, well-known Manhattan Opera prima donna; Aida Brass quartet; a bugler from Ft. Jay and other features will comprise the rest of the program. Highlights in the lives and works of great composers, modern and of the past, will be broadcast by the Columbia broadcasting system’s network each Wednesday evening at 9. The subject of this evening’s program is the great Russian composer, Tschaikowsky, whose works offer an opportunity for wide variety ranging from the symphony to simple, melodious Russian peasant songs. * TThe program will originate in the
new key station of the chain, WOR, New York-Newark. The American Association of Advertising Agencies, meeting at the Hotel Mayflower, N#w /York, will hear, with those who tune in on WEAF, New York, a special halfhour program performed by nationally known radio artists. This dinner concert will be broadcast by the New York station and sent over the NBC Red network.
