By Times Special MARION, Ind., Oct. 21.—George Lee, Negro, appearing at the office of Sheriff Jake Campbell to arrange bond for Mary Francis, arrested on a dry law charge, asked: “Who do you suppose put that liquor in the Francis home under the bed?” “I have an idea,” the sheriff replied. “I’ll be a good sport. I put it there,” Lee countered. Then Lee went to jail. State Rd. 37 through Martinsville and Dolan to Bloomington. Distance, 52 miles. Road paved. PURDUE VS. WISCONSIN (At Madison, Wis.) Indianapolis to Madison, Wis.— Go north on Meridian St. to Thirtieth St. Turn left and keep west through the park to Flackville; No. 52 to the intersection of No. 41; No. 41 to Kentland; No. 24 to the Indi-ana-Hlinois State line; No. 8 to Watseka; No. 1 to 7 miles north of St. Anne; No. 17 to Kankakee; No. 44 to Joliet; No. 22 to Elgin; No. 5 to Rockford; No. 2 to Beloit; No. 61 to Madison. Distance, 363 miles. Road paved to Lafayette except 5mile detour. There is graveled road between Lafayette and the intersection of Rd. 41 and 5 miles of gravel between Kentland and thp Illinois line.
