——i ITH Wilda Bennett, who YY/ originally created the title role, playing the lead, Victor Herbert’s famous musical comedy,' •The Only Girl,” will be sent over the air by the N. B. C. through the Slue network, WJZ, New York, key station, at 8 this evening. Donald Brian will play opposite Miss Bennett in the operetta, which will be accompanied by a large orchestra and directed by Harold Sanford. “The Only Girl” is the second broadcast in the new series of Philco radio premiers of successful operettas of the past, inaugurated last Saturday evening. With Rhoda Arnold as soprano ; :loist and the Wurlitzer organ as r. background, the program, “Songs -T Italy,” will be broadcast from WOR, Newark-New York, at 9:15 .onight. The singer, the organ and their program form an inviting combination. Selections from Friml’s “The Vagabond King” and two stirring marches, “The American Red Cross” and “King Karl” will be played by the States army band in a ■ hirty-minute concert this evening, to be broadcast by the N. B. C. through the key station W.JZ, New York, at 7:30. The famous Crosley Moscow Art Orchestra, under the direction of Arno Arriga, will broadcast a concert with the overture, “Orpheus in the Gnderworld,” by Jacques Offenbach, as the opening number, at 4:30 Sunday afternoon. The program will be put on the air by WJZ, New York, the key station of the N. B. C., and will be sent through the Blue net-, work.
