75,000 TO BE BENEFITED BY NEWSEWERS Projects Near Completion or Under Way to Cost Over Million. More than 75,000 persons will benefit from new sewers being constructed by the city, Sewer Engineer Charles Culley, announced today. Sewer projects near completion or under way will cost about $1,200,000, Culley said. Work has begun several weeks ago by Krenn & Data Construction Company on the $637,000 Pleasant Run main interceptor sewer job from Irvington to Garfield Park. The contractor has more than a year to complete the work. At least 50,000 will be benefited. Start Extension Soon The city sanitary board will start work soon on the $23,000 Jackson St. extension, which will join works board drains which will serve as a district bounded by Little Eagle creek, Alton Ave., Vermont and Tenth Sts. New sewers in the vicinity of Forty-Second St. and Houghey Ave., are practically completed. Work is under way on sewers to serve citizens in the neighborhood of Ritter Ave., Arlington Rd., Pleasant Run and Tenth St., and Hoyt Ave., English Ave., Keystone Ave. and Rural St. Construction of sewers bounded by Sherman Dr., Butler Ave., English Ave. and a line one mile south will begin soon. Others Being Considered These districts are among those to be considered next for sewer improvements: Bounded by Monon Railroad, Keystone Ave., Fairgrounds and Six-ty-second St. t Pogue’s Run district from Sherman Dr. east to Arlington.
