LEADING U. S. TENORS TO GIVE CONCERTS HERE City Teachers to Bring Althouse ancLChamlee; Proceeds to School Work. Plans for musical cativlties of the Federation of Indianapolis Public School Teachers for the year will bring two of America’s leading tenors, Paul Althouse and Mario Chamlee, to the city. Chamlee will be heard first on Nov. 2. He will be assisted in his recital by his wife, Ruth Miller, soprano, formerly of the Metropolitan Opera Company. The teachers’ chorus will begin rehearsals the als tof this month under direction of E. G. Hesser, head of the music department. The federation also has engaged the Orlofl trio for its second annual tour. The trio will visit each elementary school building in the city and play a recital of numbers selected from the curren State music memory list. As in past years, the money earned by the federated concerts will be used to further musical education among children of the public schools. OFFICER THREATENED Note Left for Mooresville Marshal After Alcohol Seizure. Bu Times Special MOORESVILLE. Ind., Sept. 30. A note left in the local jail threatens the life of Town Marshal Greeson, believed due to seizure by him of forty-five gallons of alcohol, found under a bridge near here. The alcohol, contained in tin cans, was the jail after being confiscated. During the night unidentified persons broke into the jail, smashed bedding and carried away furnishings, but did not molest the alcohol. The note was left by the intruders. Forty-third Regiment Meets Bn Times Special BRAZIL, Ind.. Sept. 30.—Surviving members of the 43rd Indiana regiment, Civil War veterans, are holding their annual reunion here today.

SHERIFF ANGERS COURT Wayne County Official Fac-ss Contempt Citation in Fee Itow. By Times Special BROOKVILLE, Ind., Sept. 30. Sheriff Henry Long of Wayne County has been cited to appear here Oct. 10 before Judge Cecil Tague of the Franklin Circuit Court to show cause why he should not be cited for contempt. The order follows a long controversy between officials of the counties over collection by Sheriff Long of fees for serving summonses issued in Franklin County upon persons living in Wayne.
