With the passing of the World’s Radio Pair, the Radio Industries banquet and the great championship fight, all of which captured completely the interest of the radio world, fans will now have to settle back to the routine of listening to ordinary, I every-day programs—or will they? To add to the difficulty of selecting from a large number of good programs,' WFBM enters the scene with its increased power of 1,000 watts on 1,090 kilocycles, or 275.1 meters. WFBM is planning a season of first-class programs. Everett True, New Ross, Ind., writes that he enjoys hearing phonograph records on his radio “just as much as anything else” and that

he thinks KWKH, Shreveport, La., who broadcasts phonograph music exclusively, is the best station on the air. Allen McQuehae, popular Irish tenor of the air, will close the summer series of the Atwater Kent hour Sunday evening at 7:15. Atwater Kent features for the coming season will be announced later. WMAQ, Chicago, will put a play-by-play broadcast of the CubsPirates double-header baseball game on the air Sunday afternoon at 1:80. A large amount of the world’s religious'music comes from the German people. Selections of this type will be broadcast by WEAF through the Red network on N. B. C. at 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Some of the numbers are vocal and some are played by a string trio. Works from Schumann, Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart and Handel are included in the program. “Faith, Friendship and Service” will be the theme of the People’s Radio Vespers to be broadcast by the N. B. C. through WJZ, New York, 4:30 Sunday afternoon, under the auspices of the General Radio Committee of the Greater New York Federation of Churches. Lewis Gaston Leary, Ph. D., well-known author, lecturer and preacher, will deliver the sermon. David Stimer, a 12-year-old pianist, will play the first part in a twopiano selection that opens the halfhour young artists’ program broadcast from WEAF, New York, at 4:30 Sunday afternoon. The program includes works from Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. WFBM, Indianapolis, will be on the air Saturday afternoon with the initial Indianapolis football game of the season, between Butler and Muncie Normal. This station will also broadcast the services Sunday morning of the Cliristian Men Builders at 9 o’clock and the Second Church of Christ Scientist at 10:30.
