RADIO BOARD .TANGLES WITH WIREWiRS Bullard Reveals How Capitol Politicians Attempt to Get Favors. WASHINGTON, Sept. 16.—The Federal Radio Commission has become tangled in politics in such a way that it may have a serious effect on government control of the air and the fortunes of at least one G. O. P. presidential candidate. Owners of sets, corporations operating stations, and even artists, have taken their troubles to their nearest of political kin, whether it be a Senator, a Representative, a State committeeman or merely an humble ward leader. They, in turn, have besieged the commission’s offices with request for little favors. Admiral W. H. Bullard, commission chairman, recently exploded at this state of affairs, also revealing that one of the Mellon family had been enlisted by a Pittsburgh station to present its problems to the commission in a favorable light. Bullard Revolts Bullard made clear that his navy training had led him to believe politics should have nothing to do with the proper functioning of a government department. But his attitude has aroused the politicians, and some have vowed they would take it out on the radio czars at the next session of Congress. They may get their chance, for already there is talk of asking Congress to extend the commission’s life. Under the present law it expires next summer, when actual supervision of radio is transferred to Secretary Hoover. The commission

MRS. ANNA DONOVAN Indianapolis, is personally explaining this remarkable compound for stomach, liver, kidney and bowel disorders or rheumatic and neuritis troubles. One of the latest Indorsements of this advanced remedy was issued by Mrs. Anna Donovan, 801 Birch Street, Indianapolis. "I wish to state what I think of Xonjola," said Mrs. Donovan, ‘‘and I don’t hesitate to say that this medicine is worth all the praise which so many hundreds of people in Indianapolis are giving to it. There has never been anything like Konjola, in my opinion. “My trouble was caused by a disordered stomach, and I think I must have suffered the worst forms of indigestion that anybody could endure. My food never agreed with me, no matter how careful I was about my diet. I was always nauseated, couldn’t keep food down, and as a result, my throat and chest would burn like fire. I was always having headaches. At nights it was impossible to get much sleep, except in short spells, because my nerves seemed to be on edge at all times. In this condition, my general nealth failed, and I was going down hill so fast that I was scared. “I read about Konjola and then started to ask people about this medicine. I was certainly surprised to find out that it was helping people right and left in the whole city. At one of the Hook stores a Pi armacist told me that nothing like it had ever been known in the State of Indiana. In my case ,it turned out to be exactly the medicinu I needed. I can eat anything I want without suffering, and this h something I couldn’t do for a lorg time. I never have indigestion pains or any of the other miseries. My food agrees with me perfectly, and is giving me nourishment and building me up. My nerves are stronger and I can sleep good from the time I go to bed until I get up the next morning. I seem to feel good all the time, and have new health in general. “As I said, I think Konjola deserves all the praise it is getting and I am glad to recommend it myself.’’ The Konjola Man is at Hook’s Drug Store, Illinois and Washington Sts., Indianapolis, where he is daily meeting the public and introducing and explaining the merits of this remedy. Konjola is sold in every Hook store in this city and all druggists throughout this section.—Advertisement. V 4"
then functions merely as a court of last resort on appeals from Hoover’s decisions. Hoover hi Race Any move to revise the law in this respect would plunge radio deeper into politics than prohibition. With Hoover in the presidential race, any discussion of radio is sure to revive attacks on him by the group in Congress which believes too much power is in his hands now. This element stubbornly fought the present law because it eventually lodges radio control with Hoover. , A radio fight next winter would not help Hoover’s campaign for the G. O. P. nomination and the very prospect of such a development seems to indicate that the problem of Federal radio supervision is far from settled.
