PLAN PROGRAM FOR CLAM BAKE Annual Auto Trades Outing to Be Held Saturday. / R. H. Losey, president ol the Indianapolis Automobile Trade Association, announces the Fifth Annual clam bake of the association will be staged Saturday, Sept. 10, at "the John Mann farm, New Bethel. Mann, known throughout the central west for his ability in arranging clam bakes, has had charge of all the bakes given by the trade association. In preparing his medley of food, Mann uses barrels of lobsters, h:h, chicken, corn and all the culinary accessories that goes to make the perfect meal. Contests and games have been arranged. Trap shooting and a burlesque baseball game will feature ihe entertainment. Field events will be under the Seth and Bill Klein. R. H. Losey will be in general charge of the program with John tirriten, Carl H. Wallerich, Inc. W. B. Mterson, Charles G. Sanders, A. W. jgutchison, L. L. Banford, Joseph M.jMock, Fred Williamson and W. At extremely dangerous spots along the road, self-illuminating signs are used. The signs are in different shapes, to indicate a special type of warning. U. S. Studies Engines Engineers of the United States Bureau of Standards are making a study of engine acceleration, after which they will take up the study of engine performance. At present they find that warming the intake manifolds helps the engine to pick up speed considerably.

GAIN MADE IN SALES OF ELECTRIC TRUCKS Electric street truck sales increased 10 per cent during the first half of the current year as compared with the same period in 1926, according to Electric Transportation News.
