HEFLIN SCORNS t ADMIRAL PLAN Alabama Move Not Funny to U. S. Senator. By Times Special WASHINGTON, Aug. 26.—Senator Heflin of Alabama doesn’t want to be an admiral. The senator sees little humor in the resolution introduced in the Alabama legislature suggesting that he be made an admiral and be placed on a battleship in New York harbor, where he could repel attacks from the Pope at Rome with verbal bullets. “It was the work of political enemies,” Heflin asserted, “but they haven’t heard the last of it.
