SAY VOTE KIDNAPED | Mysterious Absence Saved Cosgrave Government. By United Press DUBLIN, Aug. 17.—Rumors of kidnapping to prevent the overthrow of the Cosgrave government circulated in Ireland today as the country pondered on the mysterious disappearance of Deputy John Jinks. Jinks is a member of the National League party which was pledged by its leader, Captain Redmond, to support yesterday’s misconfldence motion directed against the government in the Dail. The vote was a tie, 71 to 71, until the speaker cast the deciding vote and saved the ( government. Jinks’ vote would have destroyed ihe government. It was rumored that Jinks was kidnapped or had voluntarily vanished. Redmond today said .\nks had promised yesterday an horn - before the Dail met that he would vote against the government and then he disappeared. “On such strange occurrences,” said Redmond, “does the fate of Ireland depend.”
