OHIO IN AUTO LICENSE WAR Interstate Trucking Cause of Fresh Dispute. The interstate automobile license war has broken out on anew front, Mark Rhoads, head of the Indiana license bureau, reported today. Last year hostilities were on the Indiana-Kentucky border. This time R is over on the Ohio line and the fight is being launched by Ohio authorities against Dearborn County truckmen. The 1927 Legislature passed a reciprocity act which would require double licenses only for trucks engaged in interstate common carrier business. “But what is a common carrier?” is the question. The truckmen who have fallen in disfavor with the Ohioans deliver milk to Cincinnati from Dearborn and other Indiana counties. On the return trip they transport merchandise out of the city into thee county. Having no regular routes, they contend they are not in the common carrier class and refuse to purchase Ohio licenses.
