WRECK VICTIM GETS $2,000 FOR INJURIES Mrs. Betty Gordon, Local Actress, Wins Suit. Betty Gordon, Indianapolis vaudeville performer, was awarded $2,000 damages for injuries sustained when her automobile was in collision with that of John Stephenson of Noblesville. A jury reached the $2,000 verdict at Noblesville in Mrs. Gordon’s suit against Stephenson. The accident was alleged to have occurred one evening after Mrs. Gordon and her party had given a performance at Noblesville and were returning to Indianapolis. Six personal injury suits are now pending against Stephenson as a result of the accident. ANOTHER HALL-MILLS CASE DEATH LISTED Jury Guard, Worn by Constant Strain Succumbs. . J„ July 2.—The list of those connected in some capacity with the famous Hall-Mills trial who have died since the murder was increased by one this week with the death in Bound Brook of William N. Pangborn, a guard of the jury before whom the case was tried. Mr. Pangborn, who was 82 years old, was made ill by the constant worry and work connected with his duties. BULLDOGS MAY HAVE BRICK-SHAPED HEADS Breeder Says Change Will Permit - Longer Life" Bu United Press LONDON, July 2.—Bulldogs of the future may have brick-shaped heads. This at any rate is the aim of bulldog breeders in England who hope by elongating the heads of bulldogs they will be able to lengthen their lives. According to C. Roger Boulton, secretary of the Bulldog Club, bulldogs are short-lived because, the nose being set too far back in the head, breathing is made difficult. “By cross-breeding to obtain a brick-shapefl head,” said Boulton, “we hope to give bulldogs a better life expectation without sacrificing the present characteristic ’bulldog look.’ ” ,
