Cormick’s Creek, which has cut into limestone a great canyon in some places as much as 100 feet, runs for a mile and a half through the park. A foot trail runs along the canyon bottom. White River bounds the park on one side and provides a sandbar and fishing holes. The park woodland is noted for its variety of wild flowers. The woods are an example of fine, second growth timber. Experiments ih growing pine, spruce and hardwood are being conducted in a nearby abandoned field. Population Center Owen County, in which the park is located, has many points of scenic and historic interest. It is on the edge of the Indiana stone belt and has a number of large quarries on its westen side. The United States population center is within its boundaries. The park is sixty-three miles from Indianapolis on State Rd. 46. By way of Martinsville and Bloomington, there is pavement all the distance except for twelve miles. The Pennsylvania Railroad provides train service to Spencer from which the park may be reached by bus. MOST BRAKES IN SHAPE Auto Test in Indiana Encouraging.
