LINDBERGH MEMORIAL PROPOSED £ Louis May Dedicate Mail _ Flying Field to Public • Use. Sv Unit'd Press ST. LOUIS, May 25.—With tentative plans for the welcome of Captain Charles Lindbergh completed, St. Louis today turned its attention to suggestions for a memorial to the young flier. The suggestion most often heard for a memorial was the purchase of Lambert-St. Louis flying field, used for the air mail service, and its dedication to public use under the name "Lindbergh Field.’’ This step was understood to be under consideration by the group of men who helped finanace Lindbergh’s flight. I. U, HEAD REMEMBERED president Bryan Given Tokens by Student Body. Bu Times Special BLOOMINGTON, Ir.d., May 25. Student body of Indiana University, following the annual senior convocation Tuesday which honored the graduating class and student winners of high honors, presented to President William Lowe Bryan a painting and a rare book as a token of appreciation of his service. Painting was from the brush of Prof. Robert E. Burke of the fine arts department. Bryan will celebrate his anniversary in that position University on Aug. 1. Twenty-four seniors and gradute students 'were selected for membership in the honorary fraternities. The list includes. Sigma Xi, Honorary Science Organization—Florence B. King, Richmond. Alpha Omega Alpha, National MedicalJßYaternity—Edgar J. Hunt, Terre Haute; Leonard L. Nesbit, Princeton; Frank B. Ramsey, Terre Haute, and Bertha Rose, Martinsville. Beta Gamma Sigma, National Business Fraternity—Charles H. Bransom, Connersville; James .T. Cochran, Washington; Clarence W. Detsch, Evansville; Herbert L. Plowman, Gary, and Gilbert A. Shedd, Rolling Prairie. From humble beginnings, gloves rose to be badges of rank and priestly office. They still retain a vestige of their former distinction as emblems of gentility.

Bu United Press GREENSBURG, Ind., May 25. This community sees in the recent opening of the new Reliance Shirt ALUMNI GROUP ELECTS Manual High Girls’ Physical Director Named President. At the annual dinner at the Athenaeum Club, Tuesday night, Miss Mabel Loehr, physical director for girls at Emmerich Manual Training High School, was elected president of the Alumni Association of the Normal College of the American Gymnastic Union. Other officers elected were Mrs. Kate Stichman, vice president; Mrs. Olive Morris, secretary, and Curt Toll, treasurer. Members of the graduating class were guests at the banquet. The graduating exei-cises will be held tonight, with George Seibel. Pittsburgh. Pa., president of the American Gymnastic Union, delivering the address. A public exhibition was scheduled for the afternoon. Two Join Order The order of Knights of Constantine had two new members today— George A. Ball, Muncle philanthropist, and Elmer F. Gay, manager Pettis Dry Goods Company. Both were elected to membership at a dinner at the Columbia last night. Membership in the Constantines is open only to thirty-second degi'ee Masons.

Manufacturing Company the dawn of anew industrial era here. The plant is one of eleven maintained in Indiana by this company. When it is operated at full capacity more than two hundred and twentyfive persons will be employed in the plant. The factory was obtained through cooperation of citizens and the Greensburg Chamber of Commerce. President John W. Shoemaker, of the Chamber of Commerce, and a citizens’ committee headed by Will J. Scheidler met with factory officials, headed by R. R. Rader, and decided upon establishment of the plant here. The matter of obtaining a site, which puzzled those Interested for months, was settled when another plant announced that it was aban-doning--operations. POPPY DAY PROCLAIMED Blossoms to Be Sold by Vets Saturday. Mayor Duvall today issued a proclamation authorizing the sale of memorial buddy poppies Saturday by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the benefit of disabled veterans. Commander Solon A. En\oe explained the purpose of poppy day to 2200 members of Hoosier post No. 624 Monday night. Services were planned at Monu-' ment Circle following the Memorial day parade and at Crown Hill In the afternoon.
