AUTO ROUTE TO DERBY IS GIVEN BY STATE BODY Indianapolis Visitors to Kentucky Classic Urged to Take Rd. 31. i Derby day race-goers have been remembered by the Indiana Highway Department. The weekly road bulletin Issued today gives the proper routing for the Louisville classic which is to be staged May 14. It is as follows: “Paving on Road 66, between French Lick and Paoli, the route many Illinois and Missouri people will use journeying to Churchill Downs, will cause some inconvenience ,by reason of a detour between these points, but can be avoided by traffic off Road 80, from Vincennes continuing on that route to Mitchell, thence south on Road 37 to Paoli and then on the regular route Road 150 to New Albany. Derby Route “Persons routing to the Derby from Indianapolis should use Road 31 and will find a fair detour between Amity and Columbus around paving, bridge run-around at eight and one-half miles south of Columbus, some loose gravel between Columbus and Seymour, but not to a depth, to be bothersome, and a short detour over city streets in Jeffersonville. “Attention is called to short detours on Road 32, between Lebanon

While making his way to a lumber camp near Algonquin Park, Elwood Bloss was oursued by a pack of wolves. He fled onto the open Ice, where the animals, sixteen of them, surrounded him. Their howling attracted the attenton of a game warden, who arrived before they closed on their victim. He shot seven before the pack fled.
