MED MAN DIES IN POORHDUSE AS TRAGjCCHAPTER English Nobleman Struggled Long to Provide for Family. Bu United Preu LONDON, May 6.—Sir James Renals, baronet, died in a poorhouse at Brighton, whil® his seven-year-old eon and heir, now Sir Herbert Renals, third baronet, was lying in a ward at a nearby sanitarium, undergoing lung treatment. Lady Renals, who with her husband had' struggled for years to make a living and keep their home together in a slum district of Brighton, went to the sanitarium and told the new baronet of his father’s death. "Daddy has gone to Heaven,” she said. Th® pale boy turned hopelessly on bis cot. "I wish I could go with him,” he said. Lost Fortune It was as plain James Renals that Sir James had lived for years at Brighton. No one knew where he was or that he was married. He had lost a great fortune years before, through unfortunate investments. Too proud to seek help from relatives, he had solicited advertisements and done other such work to support his wife and family of six children, the youngest only 3 months old. Mother Will Work . ‘‘l do not despair. I shall work and do everything in my power to keep nw children,” said Lady Renals, to intWviewers. “When we were married, my husband had plenty of money. One unfortunate investment followed another, and we went down and down. It has been a hard struggle, but he was a good husband and a good father. Perhaps strive day his heir will come into his own.” The dead baronet was the son of b former lord mayor of London, and was at one time a lieutenant of the City of London, a great honor. He was 66 years old. Reference books had lost track of him fdr years past, and gave his address still as in a fashionable London district. Knew His Frogs NEW- ORLEANS. Frogs that were being raised in captivity by a biological firm were stolen recently. Two men, discovered frogs In their possession, declared they had caught them in the marshes. But an official of the Ann demonstrated to the satisfaction of the court that they were his frogs, because their voices were much deeper than those of their wild cousins and the frogs were thereupon returned to the biological firm.
