G., on file in the street commissioner's office. Inspection of the mud hole in front of the home of the taxpayer at 1522 Sheldon St. will be made by the street department. The correspondent of Mr. Fixit declared he had lived on Sheldon St. nearly six years and reported the street's condition several times, but without results. The request of Mrs. H. that cinders be put on IV. Pratt St. between Marlow Ave. and Centennial St. was presented the street commissioner and the letter will be investigated in turn. The street commissioner’s reports that the property owner's request for a remedy of the flooded condition of Beechw r ood and Burgess Aves, Irvington, was received too late. While a bandit pair held up and robbed the Standard Oil filling station at Illinois and Sixteenth Sts. iate Wednesday night, taking SBO from the register and safe, Louis Rice, 133 E. Twenty-Second St., attendant, obtained detailed description of them and license numbers of tne car. Search by several police squads failed to apprehend the bandits, one. of whom had covered Rice with a gun while the second gathered up the money. April 28. —The United States Government is seriously considering a Nicaraguan peace plan Involving American guarantees for order in and before the 1928 Nicaraguan elections —responsibilities which the United States hitherto has refused to assume. Former Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson, President Coolidge’s special representative here, has presented such a plan from President Diaz to the liberal revolutionists as a basis for peace.
