MEN GRAY TODAY WONT SEE RDM WENT REALIZED Lack of Funds Delays County's Million-Dollar Highway Program. Long after gray haired men die — Marion County will have its proposed $1,000,000 worth of roads—not before. That is the prophecy of County Commissioner George Snider, who, with his brother commissioners Cassius L. I logic arid Charles Sutton, county eouncilmen and Engineer .Henry Campbell, spent Tuesday looking over roads residents want paved. “When will the roads be improved?’’ Snider Avas asked. Paving Hopes Fade 'Til never live to see it—you might, ’ he said to the reporter. “None of us with gray hairs now in our heads will see it." But, he said, eouncilmen and commissioners want to pave all the county roads petitioned. Little headway will be made on the proposed roads this year, county officials believe. The roads are: X. College Ave.; Eighty-Sixth St.; E. Tenth St., from Arlington Ave. to Cumberland: High School Rd. from Valley Mills to Rockville Pike; Shelbyvllle Rd.; Acton Rd. and Arlington Ave. Funds Insufficient The Shelbyville Rd. petition was filed two years rfgo. Many of the l'ujts were pleaded for months ago, of finances holds up the program. Campbell included all these thoroughfares in his proposed annual road program for this year, presented to commissioners and eouncilmen the first of this year. TO NOMINATE OFFICERS Board of Trade Looking Toward Annual Election June 18. From twenty-five candidates, seven members of the annual nominating committee of the Indianapolis Board of Trade will be elected at the annual primary May IS. The committee then will name the regular ticket of candidates for officers and members of the governing board, which will be voted on at the annual election June 18.
