GOVERNOR LAUDS HEALTH PROGRAM Jackson’s Letter Indorses ‘Child Week’ Plans. Letters from Governor Jackson and many others, commending tlie setting aside of Child Health Day, May 1, and Child Health Week, have been received by the arrangements committee for the Indianapolis observance, Paul L. Kirby, of the board of health, announced today. Kirby heads the committee. The Governor’s letter said: “I heartily approve observance of May 1 as Child Health Day and urge that all citizens, organizations, and municipalities observe this day by planning constructively for the future health and happiness of little children to the end that the opportunity for complete physical, mental, moral and religious development may be the heritage of every child.” Judge Frank J. Lahr, of Marion county Juvenile court, also indorsed the movement, saying: “Through the programs for health, recreation, and ohild welfare, delinquency Is prevented to a great extent and for that reason the Juvenile Court urges public support :or such agencies.” Resolutions of co-operation were received from Family Welfare Society and Jewish Federation.
