Make Her Beg Money “Make her ask you for every nickel she needs to spend—women have a knack of finding money. “Be sure to unload all your business worries on her —she loves to hear about them. “Regale her with stories about with other women—if you don't, she’ll think you're getting old. “Park In the most comfortable chair at night and read, don’t converse—quiet Is a prime requisite in a well-furnished home. Never Bring Candy “Never bring candy home for her and the children, rfhe family loves candy and it is good for them—but don’t indulge them. “Object seriously to going out to play bridge, to a dance or to a show —let her stay home and mend the stockings. “Keep your liveliness and gayety for when you do go out —seeing you the ‘life of the party’ will make up for your being a grouch at home. “By all means don’t tell her you love her —she’ll think you have been violating the Eighteenth Amendment, if you observe the other nine rules.” CADDYING IS WORK LONDON, April I.—Thousands of caddies have been affected by the recent decision of the Ministry of Labor that caddying is work. Crowley the old-fashioned grilling by ‘hard-boiled’ inspectors attended by a stenographer, is the one sure way to make the errant ones break down. His observations were made following announcement by a New York psychologist that he had invented a machine which is sure-fire nemesis on crooks. “There is no doubt in my mind of all-round superiority of the Boston method where suspects are examined in the presence of a stenographer by trained police officers,” said Crowley. "The result in most cases is advantageous to the police and shows the guilt or innocence of the prisoners. Besides the courts give due credit to testimony of officers who personally examine tho defendants, while I doubt very much if heed would be paid to testimony procured from a prisoner attached to a machine.”
