MR. FIXIT Smoke Inspector Hit in Complaint,

Mr. Fixit is the Times representative at the city hail. He will be glad to present your case to the proper city officials. Write him in care of The Times signing full name and address. Name will not be published if anonymosity is desired. The smoke inspection department of the city came in for its share of complaints in Mr. Fixit’s mail today. One person wrote Mr. Fixit complaining of the smoke at Delaware and North Sts. She declared that the smoke is so thick at times one would think that he was living in Pittsburgh. The letter: Dear Mr. Fixit: lam writing you in regard to the smoke inspector, if we still have one. The Cambridge Apts., moved from Pennsylvania and Michigan Sts. to the northwest corner of Delaware and North Sts. caused a terrible lot of smoke. At times the smoke is so thick that you would think that you were living in Pittsburgh instead of Indianapolis. Please call this to his attenion and see if ife will do anything about it. Yours for good luck. This complaint was brought to the attention of Joseph Buchanan, combustion engineer. He promised Mr. Fixit that he would see that the smoke situation was stopped He declared he knew Phiis building was smoking, but as long as it is planned to put in a modern smokeless furnace this summer he had not bothered them. Dear Sir: The alley between Thirty-Fifth and Thirty-Sixth Sts. from Barnes Ave. west is nothing hut one deep mudhole. Anything that you can do to have this situation remedied would certainly be appreciated. H. E. T. George Woodward, street commissioner, to whom Mr. Fixit gave this complaint said that he practically is snowed under with complaints at this time. The good weather is causing persons who put their cars up for the winter lo bring them out again. Every one in Indianapolis seems to have a bad alley or street that they want fixed. He promised to take care of the alley as soon as possible. Mr, Fixit: Back of a store on the southwest corner of Hoyt and Laurel Sts., is the most terrible mess of trash that I have ever seen. It is a menace to the health of the people, who live around it. Please see what you can do toward getting this removed. A Citizen Who Believes in Cleanliness. This matter was turned over to the board of health by Mr. Fixit. Dr. Herman G. Morgan, secretary of the board, promised Mr. Fixit that he would send a man to investigate.

International Trucks Reign Supreme In the past, International Speed Trucks in large numbers have demonstrated an exceptional ability to haul their rated loads economically and speedily. Their adaptability to this type of service has been further amplified by the addition of six-cylinder models to the line, and by many chassis refinements. The wheelbase in all models has been lengthened and frames given extra depth, strength and bracing. With these speed truck models, there is no hauling job in this type of service that Indianapolis can not efliciently handle to the owner’s complete satisfaction. For every kind of load, in any section of the country, over any kind of road, in every sort of traffic, there is an International Speed Truck which will thoroughly meet requirements.
