“he Woman Who Loves Is More Fortur>ate Than the Woman Who Is Just Loved, Martha Lee Answers Reader’s Complaint. By Martha Lee To love, or to be loved—which is better? Only once in a thousand times does Cupid hold the scales #ven. It it’s to be one nr the other, the woman who loves is more I'ortunate than the woman who merely submits to being loved.

The woman married to the man she strongly loves, is at least never bored. She has moments of acute jealousy, of course, but even these are full of ginger. She is fired with the zest of her eternal pursuit. On her tiptoes to please and interest “him," her days are filled with interest. The woman heavily loved, without returning the affection in a fair measure, hasn’t the thrill of “fixing up” for the man w r ho is already convinced that she is absolutely perfect; neither has she the strong incentive to plan and strive for approval. Whether she knows it or not, the woman who deeply and truly loves is mighty fortunate, even if she receives only a lukewarm affection in return. Which Loves Most? Dear Martha Lee: Do you think men Anow what true love is.-' If so. ''ny do llbey almost always cliangre soon after the Aneymoon? My husband insists that he me. but I am sure that my love for him is very much stronger than his love for me, but when I ask him, he says I only imagine this. I can’t bear to be away from him. but I notice that it doesn’t make him loneeome to be away from me. Is that because men and women are different or because I love him better than he does me t MRS. .LULliw.bii<. A difference in temperament may be responsible. Women are usually
