In Memoriam Notices IN MEMORIAM —In loving remembrance of our dear mother, Bertha May Foster, who passed away nine years ago today. With patience she suffered. Her sickness she bore. But they soon were ended; She suffers no more. She sleeps now, God bless her! In peace, she's at rest. Her parting was painful, But her God knew best. Sadly missed by SON ANP DAUGHTER. IN MEMORIAM —In loving remembrance of our only darling baby, Mildred J. Terrell, who passed away one year ago todav, Feb. 24. 1926. A hud the Gardener gave us, A pure and loving child; He gave it to our keening To cherish undefiled. But as the bud was opened To the glory of the day. Down came our Heavenly Father And took our bud away. You are gone, dear baby Gone beyond a world of tears. Never to be forgotten Through all the coming years. Bv your lonely mother and daddy. MR. FORMS BURIED BENEATH SOIL OF DAKOTA' Changed Surface Disfigures Clews to Locations of Treasures. fiii t’nifni I‘retn KENSAL, N. D., Feb. 24.—Two small fortunes lie buried somewhere in this vicinity. One consists of SIOO,OOO In gold dust, hastily secret-id as three prospectors returning from the Montana' gold rush years ago, were pursued and overtaken by Indians. The other Is the hoard of a miser who died from the effect of eating Jive cents' worth of Ice cream—the first nickel he ever squandered. Many secretive expeditions, some coming from a long distance, have been formed, and fortune tellers have been consulted in hopes of finding the lost gold, but, so far os is known, there has been no success. Old Map The only key to tho gold dust mystery, a faded old map, treasured for years in tho family Bible of a resident of this vicinity, has recently been stolen. But before the map was drawn by the one prospector who survived the Indian attack, modern farming had changed tho topography of the country* and the map proved little help. According to the sole prospector who survived, tho threo were travel-, ing down tho Fort Totten trail fromf Fort Totten to Fort Seward, where Jamestown now stands. When they saw they wero pursued, they first hill in some old rifle pits, but later went to a, lake. Hardly had they finished hiding their treasure when the Indians arrived and killed two of the three. Tho third remained in the lake the rest of the night and then continued to Fort Seward. He continued to his homo in Wisconsin and each year planned to retuTn to Dakota territory and recover the fortune. On his death bed he told a friend and gave tho latter a map. Land Changes The friend, fearful that his secret would bo discovered, traveled through this section as a honey peddler. The plows of the farmers had, leveled the rifle pits. There were other changes and the map at this man’s death was again bequeathed. It was shortly after the first railroad crossed this section that tho owner of the other lost treasure walked eight miles to his nearest town to celebrate the Fourth of July. He ate a dish of ice cream to cool himself and died before morning. The old house lie live l in is gone. The stones that held it ,p have been uprooted. Holes havo been dug in vain hope that tho gold he is known to have buried may he found. Legal Notices be furnished to bidder* with the •peciflciitlon*.
