OLD AGE PENSION .MEASURE PASSED Provides $25 Monthly for Persons Oxer Sixty-Five. After failing a constitutional majority last week, the old age pension bill passed the Indiana Senate Thursday afternoon by a. vote of 29 to 20. The bill provides for county option in establishing old age pensions and places distribution in the iiands of local Circuit Courts. The maximum is $25 monthly. The measure now goes to the House of Representatives. Senator James J. Nejdl (Rep.), Whiting, author of the bill, explained 'hat the pension system would enable old persons to be cared for in heir homes at less expense than at he poor farm. It is applicable only o those who are over 65 and have Raided fifteen years in a county. SHE REMEMBERS ROCK HILL, N. C., Feb. 11.—Miss Afollie Mason recently celebrated her fiftieth year of teaching. She is believed to be the oldest art teacher in the country in point of service. Miss Mason remembers the burning of I'olumbla, S. C., during the Oivil War. She was born at Wetumpka, Ala.

David Dietz Will Speak Tonight

David Dietz

Sounds will be made visible as well as audible when David Dietz, science editor of the Cleveland Press, a Scripps-Howard newspaper, lectures tonight before the Men’s Club of .-the First Presbyterian Church. His articles have often appeared in The Times. My means of the phonelescope, a scientific device for making sound waves visible, Dietz will show what the human voice looks like. With the aid of radio apparatus he will show how remote control can be established and how a bell may be rung or a bomb set off by radio. The subject of the lecture will be “The Last Frontier.’’ It will be illustrated with stereopticon slides. Dietz is a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and a member of many scientific societies of America and Europe.
