jfi BANANA TOAST Remove the crust from graham bread, and cut it into thin slices. Spread one piece with thin slices of bananas and lay another slieo of bread on this. Olney ftt , tty. CREAM LOAF CAFE Cream one-half cup shortening With one cup sugar, add two egg yolks, and one teaspoon lemon c.v tract. Add a little at a time onehalf cup cornstarch, and three level teaspoons baking powder. Fold in two beaten egg whites and bake in a greased loaf pan in a moderate oven for 45 minutes. CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS An old southern dish this, which once tried, becomes a permanent fixture: Dress and joint a fat hen. Cover with cold water and cook till loose on the bones. Salt to taste. To make the dumplings, take a little less than the quantity of flour desired made up, add salt and small lump of butter. Stir in just enough boiling water to make a ball of dough.
