2,000 MORE NEW MEMBERSSOUGHT Legion Expects Half of State Quota This Month. Urgent appeal for 2,000 more members of the American Legion in Indiana by Monday was issued to ail posts throughout the State here today by Department Commander Paul V. McNutt. “Less than 2,000 members are needed for the Indiana Department to pass the 50 per cent mark on the quota for the Hodsier State by the national organization,” Mr. McNutt said. “When January ends we want to say that the Hoosier State is on the march; it already half-way to the goal and more, and pushing forward with unparalleled spirit and enthusiasm in the Legion cause. “We are now 2,000 ahead of our membership record for the same date last year. Let us keep it up; let us better the good work.” GIRL’S BODY ON PORCH Found at Home With Bullet Wound In Temple. Bv United Pres* . LONG ISLAND, N. Y„ Jan. 28. Miss Marion Hunt, 20, today was found dead from a bullet wound on the porch of her home here. A bullet had penetrated her left temple. An ambulance surgeon said she had been dead several hours. WOULD ABOLISH BOARD Bill to Eliminate Sanitary Body Proposed by Mayor Duvall. A bill to be presented to Legislature providing for the abolishment of the sanitary board is being prepared by Corporation Counsel Schuyler A. Haas. This bill was proposed by Mayor Duvall. II ilOlltlS BY DRINKING WATER If Your Back Hurts or Bladder Bothers, Also Take Some Salts Flush your kidneys by drinking a quart of water each day, also take salts occasionally, says a noted authority, who tells us that too much rich food forms acids which almost paralyze the kidneys in their efforts to expel it from the blood. They become sluggish and weaken; then you may suffer with a dull misery in the kidney region, sharp pains in the back or sick headache, dizziness, your stomach sours, tongue is coated and when the weather is bad you have rheumatic twinges. To help neutralize these irritating acids, to help cleanse the kidneys and flush off the body’s urinous waste, get four ounces of Jad Salts from any pharmacy here; take a tablespoon ful in a glass of water before breakfast for a few days, and your kidneys may then act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for years to help flush and stimulate sluggish kidneys; also to neutralize the acids in the system so they no longer irritate, thus often relieving bladder weakness. Jad Salts is inexpensive; cannot injure and makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink.—Advertisement.
