SAYSCOURTCOST OFFSET BY FOOD Claims Evansville Tribunal Not an Added Expense. Cost of establishing: a Criminal Court in Vanderburg County will be offset by a saving in the cost of feeding prisoners at the county jail, according: to a tabulation compiled by Representative French Clements (Rep.), Vanderburg County, author of the bill. Congested condition of the court docket is one of the causes for the high feeding cost which Clements shows was $10,585.90 in 1925 and more than $14,000 in 1926. Clements figures indicate that in 1924 the three present judges handled 2,783 cases. In 1925, 3,064 cases were disposed of, in addition to 351 probate causes. Circuit Judge Charles P. Bock, Evansville, protested against the establishment of the additional court to legislators Tuesday. He was accompanied by Harry Anderson, police chief, and Ben Bartlett, license inspector, both of Evansville.
