OFFICERS, OTHERS TO BE VACCINATED Follows Quarantining of Family. Dr. Herman Morpan of the city ' board of health has ordered vaccl- ( nation of school children, police attaches of the juvenile court, children held at the Juvenile Detention Home aa well as others who have had contact with Shirley and Kenneth Mahurlan, 9 and 13 years of age, 48 S. State Ave, The Mahurlan family has been quarantined with smallpox, by doctors of the health board, Dr. Morgan said. Shirley is ill. Recently Kenneth was arrested and admitted to detectives that he and another youth committed six east side store burglaries. He was taken to the Detention Home but was sent home soon after Miss Susanah Pray, matron, learned of the illness at his home. Saturday night ho ran away and was paptured by police Sunday, who again took him to his home and ordered his parents to keep close watch over him. Postofßce Reflects Spirit of Christmas "Decorative competitors” is what •stofflce employes have termed emselves, following the decorating of the entire first floor of the Federal Bldg., with streamers, bells, wreaths, tinsel and Christmas welcome signs. "The dee(*-ating started with the carriers,” Postmaster Robert H. Bryson said, “and next the clerks distributing the incoming mail decorated their department. The outgoing mail distributors followed, and then the superintendent of mail’s office, finance section and money order section.” Bryson’s own executive section was last, but not least, he added. The decorations were bought through collections taken among the employes. A large arrayof streamers greets the public at the parcel post windows and wreaths and tinsel extend tlie season’s cheer at the money order and stamp windows.

Ramadan, blooded horse that bore Rudolph Valentino across the desert in his famous sheik pictures, was sold at auction in Hollywood as tlie late actor’s estate was liquidated. Ramadan, with two other horses, brought a total of $2,023. This picture shows the famous horse going under the hammer.
CITY GETS CONVENTION American Humane Association to Meet Here Next Fall. Indianapolis was chosen from among twenty contending cities for the fifty-fiirst annual convention of the American Humane Association, to be held Oct. 4 to 7, 1927, according to word received this morning by Sergt. Thomas T. Bledsoe, treasurer of the local society, and Henry T. Davis, manager of the Chamber of Commerce convention bureau.
