Langley plans to wreak revenge on those he claimed were responsible for his being sent to prison for conspiracy to violate the Volstead act. "Startling revelations" were promised by the former Representative just before he walked out of the prison here yesterday on parole, aft* er serving eleven months of his twoyear term. The book, he said. Is not yet complete. He wrote a number of chapters while In prison and will finish the work in his home at Plkevllle, Ky r . The Cumberland Mountains of Kentucky, referred to In the title of the book, are famous for moonshine whisky and skirmishes between bootleggers and prohibition officers. Langley was careful' In discussing his book not to say anything that might be construed as a violation of his parole, but he Indicated that the contents would not -be marked by restraint. “And every word that I shall make public will be published under oath," he said. Unless Langley Is given special permission by the Attorney General, he will be forbidden to leave the boundaries of Kentucky while on parole. This Is expected to give him plenty of leisure time to use on his book. Friends of Langley predict he will almost Immediately plunge actively into politics, hoping to be re-elected to Congress when he Is no longer on parole. His wife has been elected to his seat.

Bv United Press BRYANTVILLiE, Mass., Deo. 11. —The regular water supply of one city and six towns was cut off today by an explosion and fire which virtually destroyed the Bryantvllle pumping station here. Engine four of Brockton, while speeding to this village to aid In battling the llames, was w’recked on Temple St. hill, in Whitman, when it skidded into a hydrant and crashed against a telephone pole. Two men on the apparatus, Driver William McGowan and Engineer Gorham Pettigrew', were thrown td the street but escaped serious injury. Asa result of the fire it was necessary to turn off the regular water supply to Brockton, Bryantvllle, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Hanson, South Hanson and Whitman. The Woodland Ave. station of Brockton has been put Into emergency operation. INTELLIGENCE IN - POLITICS. PLEA Dr. Hall Heard by Women Voters. “The remedy for the evils of democracy is not more democracy, but rather the more intelligent use of what we now have,” declared I>r.
