BAPTISTS TO AID HOME TO HAVE * BIG CHRISTMAS Baptist Christian Center to Have Big Yuletide Season. Santa Claus has started his good ■work at the Baptist Christian Center at 162 N. Blackford St. Santa has been helped on his program of good cheer by many of the Baptist churches o fthe city. Among the Baptist churches that have made gdnerous contributions to the Center are the First Baptist, Tuxedo Baptist, Crooked Creek Baptist and the Memorial Baptist. Among the gifts already received include a gas range, a kitchen cabinet and kitchen shower, clothing for children and other articles. Both houses, the Leon Joyce House and the F. E. Taylor Chapel, will be trimmed in Christmas greens. On Thursday night there will be a Christmas tree program and gifts. Santa Claus will call upon the children after the program. The Baptist Christian Center is in the Community Chest, but is supported by .the Baptist churches of the Indianapolis area. Its direction is from the Federated Baptist Churches of Indianapolis, Frederic Arthur Hayward, executive secretary. Any gifts, therefore, sent to the Baptist Christian Center may be sent to the Baptist city offices, 1729 N. Ulilnols St. Classes are held in the Bible, domestic science, music, typewriting and stenography, boys' work and sewing for girls. It is expected to open a medical clinic in January with representative physicians in charge. Bandages and other Red Cross aid will be gladly welcomed. Miss Wills B. Walker is director of the Center, giving her entire time to the work, conducting classes, supervising the play and visiting the sick. Associated with her have been twenty other workers in the city. The present location is permanent and the buildings (three in number) are being remodeled to make this one of the most helpful centers in the city.

County Criminal Court, Friday, had arrested Henry Friedmeyer. an officer of the Pathfinder Auto Service Company, 216 E. New York St. Instead, the name should have been John Matthews, another firm official. He and H. L. Pace were arrested by Jack Fisher, John Taylor and Ned Russell, for violating the liquor law, but the Marlon County grand Jury indicted the exconstables for alleged "planting” of the booze.
