MOMENT ENDS' WITH SHOOTING Fired on Stepson, Police Say. An argument between a stepfather anfl stepson resulted In a shooting early today, at 816 S. Sadie St... police said. William Eakers, 55, of 815 S. Sadie St., fled before police arrived, after firing a charge from a shotgun at his ' stepson, Easter Hedges, 29, of 815 S. Sadie St., according to Lieut. O. D: Thomas. Some of the shots struck Hedges on the left arm. After treatment at * the city hospital he was slated on a charge of assault and battery. - Thomas said he learned the two men met In front of their homes and argued over a clothes wringer recently stolen from the Hedges • home. When Hedges struck his stepfather, the latter ran for the gun, witnesses said.
