ONE DELIVERY OF SAIL CHRISMS DAY ANNOUNCED Change Last Year When Postal Workers Had Full Holiday. Timex Washjnntnn Bureau, !A I .V no York Avenue WASHINGTON, Dec. 30.—Becaus* Christmas comes on Saturday this irear, Postmaster General New will not change his decision to have one mail delivery Christmas. Otherwise, he says, there would be two full Hays, Saturday and Sunday, at the busiest postal season of the year, 'Without mail deliveries. This imposes conditions which make “pardial service Christmas both desirable ind necessary.” New's decision was reiterated in the face of thousands of requests lYrom Cleveland, Youngstown and other cities asking that postal employes be given a full holiday Christmas. The general secretary of the Lord’s Day Allianco had also reuiested a reversal of the ruling. The Christmas delivery order was tot issued, New replied, until after fee matter had received very thorough consideration. Postal clerks and carriers last year Pad a complete holiday Christmas (Jay, by order of Postmaster General New, for the first time in the history of the Postofflce Department. Christmas was on Friday and the holiday meant only a one-day sus•ension of deliveries. To make the mail men’s burden ws light as possible Christmas, New suggests # that "everybody mail early.”
