NEGROES IN THU CUTTINGAFFRAYS Police Investigate and Make Arrests. Three cutting affrays, all with Negroes participating, were investigated by polloe Wednesday night. Three men are alleged to have cut William Harrison, Negro, 1435 Northwestern Ave., as he stood at Fayette and North Sts., early today. Harrison’s head and back wounds were treated at city hospital and ho was held on a vagrancy charge. Police were told that he did not know his assailants. Joe Woodard and his wife O’Della. Negroes, are said to have quarreled at their home, 816 Locke St. She is said to have stabbed him In the head with a table fork. Both were charged with vagrancy and ehe with assault and _battery. Police found William Mahon, Negro, 3010 Martindale Ave., ar Twenty-Eighth anil Bellefontalno Sts., waving a knife. At Thirtieth and Bellefontaine Sts., Claude WUkerson, 35, Negro, 3010 Martindale Ave., was found with a stab wound in the back. Cox, attorney representing citizens, pointed out at a public hearing Wednesday. Cox charged that the South Side Motor Coach Company, now engaged in a struggle with the Beech Grove Traction Company, is one factor behind the annexation movement.
