Youthful liamlit A youthful bandit walked into the filling station at Twenty-Second and Delaware Sts. at closing time Sun day night, held up Willlarji Wilson, attendant, and obtained $75 loot. Wilson had placed all hut $25 in I the safe before the bandit entered. But the hold-up man was not satisfied with that amount. He forced Wilson to open the safe and took out SSO more, hut missed SBO. A man was seen leaving the William Schwartz dry goods store, 2430 Northwestern Ave., Sunday carrying two packages. Police found the | burglar had used a pass key to open the rear door, but they were unable to locate Schwartz and learn the loot taken. The same two bandits, police believe, held up a store, a filling station and were bluffed away from another filling station. They drove Into the Standard Oil Company station at 3335 W. Washington St., as Walter Greenwood, 420 Berwick Ave., was opening up Sunday morning and drawing revolvers forced him to open the safe. They took SBO and fled. Bluffed Away Twenty minutes later they attempted to repeat the stunt, at the Standard Oil station. King Ave. and Tenth St. Murel Hook, attendant, refused to open the safe, however, and the bandits declared they were “Just | fooling,” when he brushed their guns away and Ignored the command. Store Robbed The same men, police believed, held up Mrs. Alma Rahe, millinery store proprietor, 5502 E. Washington St., Saturday night and obtained SSO. No trace of two Negro youths who held up Lewis Coval, proprietor of a grocery at 2305 Sheldon St., Saturday night, getting away with about $8 after searching the entire store and also the pockets of Coval, has been found. According to Coval, | the Negroes walked in the store and ordered a dimes worth bananas. When Coval handed one of the men the bananas the man pulled a gun, searched his pockets while the other man searched the store. Two Attempts Police were called early Sunday morning to Thirty-Fourth St. and Keystone Ave. on the report of an attempted hold up. They found that N. K. Burkholder, Indianapolis Street Railway bus operator, had ' seen a man standing in the middle of the road with a gun leveled a‘ him;. Burkholder said he ran straight at the man and forced him off the road. No trace of him could be found. Late Satui-day police were called to Broad Ripple Park to search for a man who attempted to hold up a street car, as It was getting ready !to leave the park. Joseph O. A committee, headed by Scott Fish er of Elkhart, was appointed to investigate and recommend plans for a boys' cottage at the Franklin Ma sonic Home, to cost about forty-five thousand dollars. The constitution and by-laws of the State organization were drawn up and agreed upon at the meeting. Among the aims and plans of the new organization for the coming year are: A 10,000 membership drive; installation of grottoes in Muncie, Vincennes, Kokomo and Gary, and meetings of the State body in various cities. Beveridge, chairman of the association's national committee. Col. John E. Reynolds, Chamber of Commerce secretary, has announced. At the closing session of the ninth convention of the Indiana Transfer and Warehousemen's Association Saturday, plans were outlined to organize the Central States commercial haulers into a strong organization that will represent before Congress the Middle Westerners engaged In the trucking business. It was voted to change the name of the Indiana organization to the Motor Truck Association of Indiana and to extend its membership and increase its activities. After looking around for some time they started to leave and saw a man sitting in the rear seat, On questioning, they found htnt to be Delbert Miller, 2330 Union St., for whom they were looking. At the station Miller told the officers he knew how to find the turnkey's office without help. MAN FOUND ALONG ROAD Curtis Moon Taken to Hospital With Serious Injuries, Curtiss Moon, 61, of 1044 WM Michigan St., was found on the side at Emerlchsville Bridge early today.
