All the wartime excise taxes, Including the $75,000,000 3 per cent factory tax on automobiles, should be abolished, and the corporation flat tax rate, increased from tZ’i to 13 1 a per cent a year ago, should bo cut to 11, or perhaps 10 per cent, Representative Gardner (Dem.), Texas, minority House taxation expert, said today. Ho and Senator Simmons fDom.l. j North Carolina, Senate Democratic i leader, have been conferring on the tax situation, and they are In substantial agreement on all points. They believe the surplus next June 30 will be around $500,000,000 Instead of the $250,000,000 to $300.000,000 e* I Unrated by Secretary Mellon.
