SUPER-ZEPPELINS TO LINK SPAIN • WITHARGENTINA Contracts Already Let — License for Service Granted. B SEA Service MADRID. Spain, Nov. 9—A tiring twenty-day ocean voyage will be shortened to an aerial tllght of less than five days In 1829 when superZeppelins begin their flights between Seville, Spain, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Contracts have been let for the construction of the first airship to take this trip, while the Spahish government itself has granted a license for the service. It is expected to be the first trans-oeeanic air service. The Authority No less an authority than Capt. Hugo Eckener will take charge of the construction of this super-Zep-pelin, which will be the first of several for the same service. Eckener is the man who directed the succesis the man who directed the successful flight of the Eos Angeles from the shops at Friedrich shaven, Germany, to the United States. new ship will be built in the ■hue plant, and will be directed in ™ first flight across the Atlantic by Captain Eckener. Tentative plans show it to be more than twice the size of the Eos Angeles, with all possible Improvements already invented by the time the ship is completed. Even the item of fuel and the kind of engine to be used on the ship await possible perfection of anew fuel-saving apparatus. Radius of 6,250 Miles The airship will be the L-Z-127. and will have a flight radius of 6,250 miles. Eckener and others have no doubt that the ship will be able to make the flight from Seville to Buenos Aires In four and a half days —a distance now covered by ocean liner in twenty days. Twelve round trips a year are planned at first. Eater, with the use of more super-Zeppelins on the same route, the Seville to Buenos Aires flight will be made more often. The Spanish government has appropriated an unusual subsidy of 30,000,000 pesetas for the service, to be paid for a period of five years. This will permit of at least two years of trial in flight, by which time the authorities expect to learn definitely of the practicability of such a service. TUNNEY IMPOSTER FINED Forfeits $3.60 for Selling Stolen Coat to Dempsey. Bu United Press •LONDON, Nov. 12. —Even his lordip sat up on his bench with inrest when the court procedure suddenly brought forth the fact that Dempsey had bought an overcoat from Tunney. The transaction took place in a Stockton inn, and Dempsey paid the modest sum of ten shillings for the garment. But one look at the dock where James "hinney stood on trial was enough to dispel the thought that the bargain had anything to do With that recent affair in Philadelphia. The man Tunney did not appear as a world’s champion, and he was fined fifteen shillings (about $3.60) for stealing the coat before he sold it to Dempsey. AT LEAST DESERVES PITY SOMERVILLE, Mass — v When Traffic Officer Warner stopped an autoist who had ignored his signal, he found that the driver, Adolph Fisher, was deaf, dumb and had only one arm. Fisher was arrested for violation of traffic rules. A live turtle on whose shell was found carved the date 1815 was found recently in Connecticut.
