The party Is due In Kansas City early Thursday morning. AUTOS CRASH; 3 UNHURT Cars Badly Damaged, But Occupant Are Only Shaken Up. Three persons, principals in an automobile collision at midnight last night, which badly damaged two machines at E. Thirty-Fourth St. and Washington Blvd, miraculously escaped with no Injuries except a bad shaking up. The heavy coupe driven by Carroll E. Tomey, of 3636 Salem St., collided with the machine In which J. Harry Miles of 5251 Washington Blvd., and his wife were riding. Tomey was driving west on ThirtyFourth St. and Miles north on Washington Blvd., when the accident occurred, which smashed the front of Miles' car and shattered the glass In several window's. Tomey's machine spun around and crashed into a telephone pole on the north w'est corner, breaking off a rear wheel and smashing in the side. OPPOSE ATHLETIC FIELD South Side Residents Object to Proposal by Foundation. Noise and obstruction of the view with high walls were chief objections voiced by south side residents Tuesday against the proposal of the Indianapolis Foundation to build a high school athletic field between Pennsylvania St. and Madison Ave., north of Pleasant Run Blvd. The protest was made to the city board of zoning appeals, which de elded to withhold action until after an inspection tour. ,•

Bv Times Special UPLAND, Ind., Nov. 10.—In a tryout before a faculty committee, the following Taylor University students were chosen for the season’s intercollegiate debates; Marcius Taber, Lynn Mosser, Elton Stetson, Gaylord Logan, Harold Ockenga, Lawrence Boyll, Robert Clark and Deane Irish. They are scheduled for debates with De Pauw\ Muncie Normal, Manchester, Wabash, Indiana Central and Terre Haute Normal. The question for debate is, “Resolved, That Grants in Aid by the Federal Government be Discontinued.'’ A girls' team will debate the following question w f ith still another list of colleges, “Resolved, That Congress Should Be Given Power tn Enact Uniform Marriage and Divorce Law's.” Those w'ho will del>ate the affirmative are Bertha Pollitt, Ruby Breland, Margaret Coghlan and Hazel Lewis.
