TEN ‘LAME DUCK’ SENATORS SIT IN NEXTCONGRESS Large Delegation Defeated Aspirants Will Seek Jobs. Times W’iisliin'iton Bureau. t-IJ.! X<:w York Avenue WASHINGTON, Nov. 5. Ten states Senators who have been epudiated at the polls will sit in the coming short session of Congress. The unusually large delegation of lame ducks,” who must look to President Coolidge for jobs if they are to continue in public life, is expected to give the President a strong hold on the Senate before he relinquishes it to a DemocraticProgressive majority when the Senate is seated thirteen months from now. Defeated Hold-Overs Hold-over Senators defeated at the general election are Wadsworth, Weller, Ernst, Harreld and Cameron. Five others, McKinley Means, Lenroot, Papper, and Stanfield, were beaten at the primaries. Butler of Massachusetts and Williams of Missouri relinquish their .•feats at once, being appointed for itn expired terms of Senators Lodge, and Spencer, and beaten by Walsh and Hawes. | Washington is particularly Interested in the lame duck situation in view of the fact that some Cabinet members are rumored to be on the verge of retiring and their places would be filled by presidential appointment ‘with the advice and consent of the Senate.” The Senate has yet to approve two tariff commission appointees. Coolidge may also find timber for cabinet jobs and. other important appointments among the lame ducks.

Secretajy of State Kellogg was chosen after being beaten for Senator in Minnesota. Wadsworth, Butler, Lenroot and Pepper among the retiring Senators are thought likely to have presidential consideration for Federal jobs, possibly diplomatic appointments. Inspite of the fact that Senators are often beneficiaries from their lame duck” terras, the Senate has three times voted to abolish the latter by the Norris constitutional amendment which would abolish the ! hold-over term and put the President and the Congress in office the January after election. The amendment has never come to a vote in the House, however, because House managers have held It up. One retiring Democratic Senator, Underwood of Alabama, will serve
during the short session. He did not, seek re-election. SELL BUFFALOS AT MART Bring Average of $44 Apiece In Argentine Stock Exchange. Tin Vnited Press BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 6.—HabiEPS! SILTS LIKE LEMONADE —r--Made Pleasant with Grape and Lemon Acids
