CITY TAKES STEP AGAINST MERGER

Rucker Files Appearance Before Commission. Declaring that the city wifi oppose the projected merger of lihe Indianapolis Light and Heat Company and the Merchants Heat and Light Company “from every angle,” City Corporation Counsel Alvah J. Rucker has filed appearances for himself and Charles Mendenhall of his legal staff with the public service commission. Mayor Duvall and Rucker have declared the city will oppose the proposed consolidation vigorously.
