SEEKS NEW PLAN FOR CJTYJRAFFIG Council Asks Suggestions From Several Sources. A solution of Indianapolis traffic problems, which at present place the city among the leaders In the accident list, will be sought by the city council at a meeting Thursday night. Officials of the police traffic department, Hoosier Motor Club, Merchants’ Association, Indianapolis Engineering Society and other interested persons will be invited to lend their efforts in bringing about an adequate solution. The best ideas will be incorporated in anew traffic ordinance. Anew filling station ordinance and refunding of a $1,600,000 bond issue for the city's share in the war memorial plaza are other matters to be taken up. A hearing on the filling station ordinance was held Monday afternoon and spirited opposition was voiced against rezoning Forty-Sixth St. and Central Ave. for business. This proposal has been fought before the council for some time. Among the chief objectors was Martin M. Hugg, school board attorney, who contended a filling station there would endanger children crossing the street from School 70. The council was to have taken up the matter Monday night, but Boynton J. Mopre and Edward B. Raub were the only members to appear. The meeting was postponed until Thursday.
