highway commission’s traffic bulletin issued today from the office of John D. Williams, director. Completion of the St. MelnradLeavenworth section is one of the big achievements of the department and represents three years of continuous effort to build a road where practically none existed. This road is through the rough hill country of the south end of the State, and in many instances the builders were forced to blast the route through solid rbek. Highway officials today said that the section of Rd. 37 extending from twelve miles north of English south to Tell City, through similar topography where nearly identical obstacles are being encountered, will 1 be opened in about six weeks. Attention was called to closing the Wabash River bridge at Vincennes on U. S. highway 60, owing to its dangerous condition and that traffic crosses the river by ferry. The public was warned to drive slow for about a week over fresh tar on Rd. 7, between North Madison and Wirt. Surface conditions on roads enter ing Indianapolis: Rd. 29 (Madison. Versailles. From Paoli to English detour is via Fargo and Young's Creek over firm, but rough stone surface. Avoid from Grantsburg to junction of 62 as lliere are no goo ddetour roads.
