If, about 1930, there should be such a thing as a war going on, near the field of .battle would be seen machines similar to the radiopropelled or “ghost” automobile, which, without a driver, is traversing the streets of Indianapolis now. At least, this is the opinion of J. R. Massey of New York, who is in charge of the car here. Those operating the “ghost” travel in a car to the rear, and a keyboard controls the actions of the car ahead. “It’s something on the order of dialing a telephone.” the operator remarked. When one key is pressed the “ghost” lets out the wail of its lusty horn; the ond key turns on lights and the third starts the engine. Even the gears are shifted by radio and corners are rounded safely, although there is much improve-
ment to be made in this last feat. “Os course, there is much to be done before the radio-controlled car is an unqualified success." Massey con--6 For Real Food and Genuine Service, Punde’s Luncheonette, 35 E. Ohio St., Known Far and Wide for Their Steaks and Noon Lunches.
