GOLDEN ORIOLE ORCHESTRA ON f TIMESPROGRAWII Some Artists Who Appeared Last Season Also to Broadcast Tonight. Artists new on Indianapolis raido programs and others remembered with pleasure from other seasons will be heard tonight on the fourth Times program of the season. Holland’s Golden Oriole Orchestra will make its first appearance on a times program. This orchestra is well-known by dancers all over the city. Holland has arranged a fine program, with many of the new novelty numbers listed. Marijane Badger, The Times little radio sweetheart; Miss Edith Auerbach, Miss Letha Emmins and others will appear in neighborhood j groups. The Times program will start at 9;30 p. m. over WFBM, Merchants Heat ,|nd Light Company, from the studio at the Severin. The program will be presented as follows: Paid; One Holland’s Golden Oriole Orchestra Maying "Mary Lou,” "That's Why MR.ove You” and “Black Bottom." Part Two Marijane Badger singing "Baby Face,” "Ho Ho the Merrio” and “Bye, Bye, Blackbird.” Part Three Holland’s Orchestra playing "Bye, Bye, Blackbird,” “Hello. Aloha, How Are You,” and "Baby Face.” Part Four • Miss Edith Auerbach, pianist, playing “Impromptu C Sharp Minor,” by Rheinbold, and “Melody Burlesque," a rhythmidal novelty. \ Part Five Holland’s Orchestra playing “Breezing Along With the Breeze,” "I Wish I Had My Old Gal Back Again” and "Could I, I Certainly Could.” Part Six Little Marijane Badger singing "When the Red, Red Robin Comes a Bobbin’.” Part Seven Some piano studies played by Miss Letha Emmins. Part Eight Holland’s Golden Oriole Orchestra, playing "Where’d You Get Those Eyes?” “Deep llenderson” and “Hi Ho the Merrio.” Part Nine Miss Edith Auerbach, playing “To a Soldier” and "Meadow Lark” on the Baldwin grand. Carl Fohl, regular announcer on all Times programs, will be in charge of tho microphone. METHODISTS RUSH WORK Conference at Rochester Expects to Adjourn Sunday. Bu United Press ROCHESTER, Ind., Oct. I.—Dls- . posing rapidly of the work before them, leaders of the Northwestern Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church today expected to end the annual gathering here by Sunday night. Ministerial assignments by Bishop Nicholson will be read at that time if present plans are carried out. The conference voted to hold the 1927 meeting in Gary after Terre Haute withdrew its bid for the meeting. Members of the Preachers’ Aid Society elected the following officers: G. Campbell, president; the Rev. HP. W. .Switzer, vice president; Henry ”L, Davis, secretary treasurer. '* Tho Rev. A. M. Hagenbrook, Star City, and the Rev. C. L. Harper, of Lafayette, were placed on the retired list, and the Rev. O. R. South, South Bend, and the Rev. O. H. Lawrence, Argos, were granted leave of absence for a year.

RUBY MINE IS SOLD Produced Finest Pigeon’s Blood Stones—lnca ted in India. Bu United Press MANDALAY, Oct. I.—The Burma ruby mines at Magok, that produced the finest pigeon’s blood stones, have been sold. The transaction must be approved by the government of India before details are announced. In 1875 the Burmese government sent two rubles to England as samples of the output of the mine. One was sold for $50,000 and the other for SIOO,OOO.

Miss Edith Auerbach There arc many pianists of rare ability in Indianapolis and the radio has found many of them. On the Times program tonight over WFBM from the Severin, Miss Edith Auerbach will play three piano groups.

EX-STARS WILL AID BALL TEAMS Police and Firemen Meet on Wednesday.

Two former diamond stars will perform on the mound in the baseball game between city policemen and firemen Wednesday at Washington Park, Don Roberts, assistant city at-; torney, announced today. Hod Eller, World Series hero with Cincinnati in 1919, now a traffic officer, will pitch for the policemen, while Claude Turner, a former minor league star, will do thq hurling for the firemen. Came proceers will go toward financing the trip of the Police and Firemen's Band to New Orleans for the international convention of fire engineers .this month. Mayor Duvall, city officials and the Chamber of Commerce are seeking to obtain the 1927 convention for Indianapolis. Entire proceeds of a boxing exhibition at Tomlinson Hall, Oct. 7, and a dance in the same place. Oct. 12, also will be used to finance the pilgrimage. In ten years of his life, Cecil Cross, son of a British wireless expert, has traveled more than 40,000 miles, including trips to India, Australia and Trinidad.
