Measuring Distance With Minutes /. v 11 r'-- / HOW feo* distant is Tokyo? London? Buenos Aires? Budapest? Belfast? Paris? Distances—in communication—are no longer reckoned in miles. Minutes and seconds are the measuring sticks. A “flash” from London would reach this newspaper in three minutes—from Buenos Aires in forty-eight seconds. A world-wide news-gathering organization called the UNITED PRESS makes this possible. There are rival organizations both in this country and abroad. This is a UNITED PRESS newspaper, first because the UNITED PRESS is one of the largest news-agencies in existence' with unrivalled facilities second ' because its foreign bureaus are in charge of "American news- 1 papermen —and third because of its independence from any Govemmentally “kept” agency its news is completely impartial and free from propaganda. For 19 yMrs, th* UNITED PRESS hjui been serving representative newspapers. It was ths first American organization to enter South America and today serve* ninety-five per cent of the strongest and most widaly read newspapers on the southern continent. Th* news you may read today from Tangier, Gibraltar, Naplas, Brussels, Paris, Geneva is reported by Americana, aant with the amazing celerity great organization makes possible and delivered at yonr door for pennies. Speed is “of th* essence of th* contract”as well as the onfall- , ing accuracy which UNITED PRESS service assures. Look foe , th* line "BY" UNIT ED press’* , Indianapolis Times
