THE ATLANTIC FLIGHT FIGURES WILUARRY GN New Machine tb Be Built and Attempt Made as Memorial to Dead. Bn United Press ROOSEVELT FIELD, N. Y„ Sept. 22.—The three principal figures in ihe projected New York to Paris flight declared today that real zation of the plan would be the only fitting memorial to their two comrades, killed Tuesday when their plane burne# at the moment of starting. Anew machine, built by Igor Sikorsky, and piloted by Capt. Rene Fonck, French ace, and Lieut. Lawrence W. Curtin, United States Navy, will make a reality of the proposed flight, it was announced. Burst Into Flames The original venture ended in disaster Tuesday when the $125,000 plane “cart-wheeled" on the\take-off, and burst into flames, after struggling in vain to lift its too great load of fuel from the ground. Lieut. J. Islamoff, the mechanican and Charles Clavier, the radio operator, were burned to death. “The strange fortune of circumstances,” said Captain Fonck, "spared the lives of Lieutenant Curtin and myself to the end that we may proceed with this task, in order the sacrifice of Islamoff and Clavier shall not have been in vain.” Sikorsky Overcome “I stand ready to undertake with Captain Fonck similar flight in a Sikorsky plane,” said Lieutenant Curtin. Sikorsky was too overcome to make a statement. But A. C. Dickinson, vice president and general manager of the Sikorsky manufacturing company announced plans to try again. ADD TO RESERVE ACRES Clark County Forest Reservation Gets New Tracts. Addition of 376 acres to Indiana forest reserve, Clark County, was announced today by State Conservation Director Richard Lieber. Purchase is made possible through the half-mill levy, which raises approximately $25,000 a year. Negotiations are under way for acquiring eleven additional acres. Does your back ache till it seems ready to break? A prompt way to end trouble is shown in a letter written by Curtis Chappell, 1130 E. St. Clair St., Indianapolis, Ind. He teTls about his recovery as follows: “I suffered with pains in my kidneys and back for three years. My back at times seemed as if it would break in two. I was tired out most of the time, and when I came home from work I just felt like I wanted to lie 'down. I lost flesh until I only weighed 155 pounds. Nothing I took did me any good till I found Viuna, and after taking only one bottle I was wonderfully relieved. My back stopped aching and I began to get some pep. My appetitg picked up and I began -to gain weight till I now weigh 170 pounds (a gain of 15 pounds), and feel fine and eat anything.” Ylnna acta promptly on alnggM DuHflei ?h y l!r e V n( i weak kldnevß.
