EDITOR OF DAILY MAIL, DEBT PACT FDEJJjTS POST Thomas Marlowe England’s Loudest Voice Opposing Funding Agreement. Bu United Press LONDON, Sept. 16.—Engand’s loudest voice in exposition to the debt funding agreement with the United States apparently has been stilled by the resignation of Thomas Marlowe as editor of the Daily Mail, a position which he had held since 1899. It was understood that Marlowe, who resigned Wednesday, would continue as chairman of the As' sociated Newspapers, limited, which lis the Northcliffe Press, now controlled by the late publisher’s brother, Lor& Rothermere. In some quarters today, the resignation was connected with a series of incidents of last summer which btfgwrWlth a virulent attack by the Mail upon the United States. "Shylock,” was the Mall’s description of Uhcle Sam, and it printed the word “usury” in its columns with the two first letters, “us,” in larger type. Lord Rothermere subsequently repudiated this antiAmerican campaign. Writing in the Sunday Pictorial,. and other of his newspapers, Rothermere disassociated himself from the policy adopted by the Mail toward allied debts to the United States. CROWD M. D. CLASSES Total of 407 Enrolled Here and At Bloomington. Indiana University School of Medicine classes were crowded with the opening of the fall semester Wednesday. There are 103 sophomores, 97 juniors and 87 seniors in the school here and 120 freshman at Bloomington, a total of 407. No additional students can be admitted, it was said. Enrollment in the Training School for Nurses is now 147. This is a larger number than can be well accomodated, it was said, but with early construction of the Ball nurses’ home, and the Coleman woman’s hospital assured, the training facilities will be increased.

‘No Sick / in Mexico Have Good LiquOr Three young Mexicans, being deported by the United States immigration department, expressed joy today over their return to Mexico because they can get “good drinks.” “No sick in Mexico,” declared one of the trio, when asked how they fared under United States prohibition laws, at the office of United States Marshal Linus P. The department ordered deportation of the youths as undesirable aliens after they served a fourteen months reformatory term for a clpthing theft at Hammond. “We have all kinds of liquor in Mexico, and all you want,” commented Leo Alba, who was hand-, cuffed to Rudolph Ramire.
